A Thriving Place Therapists
Shayla Davis, LLMSW (She/Her)
Clinical Therapist
Seeking therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you're carrying the weight of trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, or relationship challenges. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to explore your experiences without judgment.
I work with teens, young adults, adults, and older adults navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-harm, suicidal ideation, dissociation, racial identity, women's issues, relationship concerns, and the lasting effects of abuse and domestic violence. I recognize that our identities, relationships, and environments shape our mental health, so I approach therapy through a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and intersectional lens.
My style is collaborative, compassionate, and strengths-based. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Adlerian Therapy, mindfulness practices, and other evidence-based approaches to help clients build insight, develop practical coping skills, and move toward meaningful change. I believe therapy isn't about "fixing" you—it's about helping you reconnect with your strengths, values, and resilience.
Whether you're healing from trauma, navigating difficult relationships, managing overwhelming emotions, or simply trying to better understand yourself, we'll work together to identify your goals and create a treatment plan that fits your unique needs. I strive to provide an affirming, inclusive environment where clients from diverse backgrounds feel safe bringing their whole selves into the therapeutic process.
I currently provide telehealth therapy for teens (13+), young adults, adults, couples, and older adults, making it easier to access support from wherever you are. Taking the first step toward therapy can be difficult, but you don't have to do it alone. I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing, growth, and lasting well-being.
